Ontario faces multi‑day thunderstorm risk and flood warnings

Environment Canada ended a yellow severe thunderstorm watch that covered parts of southwestern Ontario—including Chatham‑Kent, Sarnia‑Lambton and Windsor‑Essex—on Sunday evening. The watch, which began around 2 p.m., was lifted at approximately 9 p.m.

The weather service also warned that southern Ontario will experience several days of thunderstorms through early August, with heavy rain totals potentially exceeding 50 mm in some areas. The forecast calls for the threat to span from the Greater Toronto Area to southwestern Ontario and north to Georgian Bay, raising concerns about localized flooding and poor driving conditions.
