Global holiday festivities and Christmas markets scheduled for late 2026

Various regions are preparing for the 2026 holiday season with diverse festive events. In Europe, traditional Christmas markets are set to open, including the Wiener Christkindlmarkt in Vienna, Austria, and the historic Christkindlmarkt in Salzburg, which dates back to 1491.

In North America, several seasonal attractions are announced. Quebec City, Canada, will host the German Christmas Market from November 19 to December 23, 2026, featuring over 125 exhibitors. Ontario will see the debut of the Vintage Hotels Christmas Market in Niagara-on-the-Lake from November 20 to 22, 2026. Toronto is also introducing a new holiday cocktail pop-up, A Dirttty Little Xmas, at The Dirty Laundry in Queen West from November 16 through December 30.

Additionally, Edmonton, Canada, continues its WinterCity initiative with events like the Deep Freeze festival, scheduled for January 16 and 17, 2027, to promote outdoor winter tourism.
