Ontario invests $1.59 million in youth sport and recreation

The Ontario government is investing $1.59 million in Canadian Tire Jumpstart Charities to support sport and recreation programs for more than 37,000 children and youth across the province.

Delivered through the Inclusive Grassroots Recreation program, the funding aims to create healthier communities and expand opportunities for young people. Canadian Tire Jumpstart Charities works with community organizations to provide equitable access for youth facing financial, accessibility, or other barriers to participation.

In the 2024-25 period, a previous investment of $1.51 million through the charity’s Community Development Grants program supported 154 grants to Ontario organizations, facilitating over 1.02 million hours of play for more than 27,000 children from underserved populations.
