Ontario Police seek help in Tammy Penner cold case
The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are seeking public assistance regarding the suspicious death of Tammy Eileen Penner, a 21-year-old cold case from British Columbia. Penner’s remains were discovered on August 28, 2005, at a picnic and rest area near Rockwood and Guelph, Ontario.
Investigators believe Penner was dragged into the woods approximately one month before her remains were found. A post-mortem examination revealed she had suffered fractures to her nose, left eye socket, and left cheekbone, though a definitive cause of death has not been determined.
Following the use of investigative genetic genealogy in 2022, Penner was identified in April 2024. She had been reported missing to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) in February 2005.
