Ontario Provincial Police charge three in Northumberland firearm investigation

The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged three individuals following the execution of a search warrant in Campbellford, Northumberland. During the operation on August 27, 2026, members of the Peterborough/Northumberland Community Street Crime Unit, supported by tactical, emergency response, and canine units, searched a residence on Grand Road.

Three suspects fled the property on foot but were apprehended nearby. Officers seized a loaded firearm during the search. The arrested individuals, all from Campbellford, include David Munford (44), Shane Mclean (45), and Kelly Scott (39). Each faces multiple charges, including possession of a loaded prohibited or restricted firearm, unauthorized possession, tampering with a serial number, and failing to comply with probation orders.

The investigation is ongoing as police continue to search for a fourth individual connected to the incident. The accused are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg.
