Ontario Provincial Police confirm second set of remains belongs to missing Robert Lambert

The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) located a second set of human remains on a property northeast of Smiths Falls on July 20, 2026. The remains were found on Kelly Jordan Road and, after post‑mortem examination, were identified as 75‑year‑old Robert Lambert of Montague Township, who has been missing since early July 2018. The OPP had previously uncovered a first set of remains on the same property on October 30, 2025, which were identified as Robbie Thomson, missing since October 2023; four individuals have been arrested and charged in connection with Thomson’s death. A $50,000 reward was announced by the Ontario government on August 1, 2025 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for Lambert’s disappearance. The investigation remains active, with the OPP requesting public assistance and maintaining an increased police presence in the area.
