ONTHEWEI baby bath seats recalled due to drowning risk
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission has issued a recall for ONTHEWEI baby bath seats, model MY002, sold on Amazon in April 2026. The recall was initiated because the seats are unstable and can tip over during use, posing a risk of serious injury or drowning.
Approximately 2,140 units were sold for between $40 and $50. The recalled products were manufactured in China and are available in gray, pink, blue, and mist green. They feature detachable restraint arms and suction cups. While no injuries have been reported, the commission advises consumers to stop using the product immediately.
To receive a full refund, customers are instructed to destroy the bath seat by writing ‘RECALLED’ on the front in permanent marker, disassembling the backrest and arm restraints, and cutting the three suction cups on the underside. A photo of the destroyed product must be emailed to the manufacturer.
