Onur Şencan recovers mobility after parachute accident and meets partner
Onur Şencan, a specialist sergeant in the Turkish Armed Forces, is recovering his mobility following a 2022 parachute accident that left him paralyzed and required spinal surgery. During his 1.5-year rehabilitation at the Ankara Veterans Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Training and Research Hospital, he met Şerife Tümer Şencan.
Şerife Tümer Şencan, who lives with Spina Bifida, is an accomplished para-athlete. Her sporting achievements include placing 4th in Turkey in para-archery and 2nd in wheelchair court tennis. She is currently training in para-karate while three months pregnant.
The couple married four months ago and is currently expecting their first child.
