Onur Şimşek sought by FBI for Pentagon procurement fraud

The FBI has placed Turkish citizen Onur Şimşek on its list of most wanted fraudsters, offering a $150,000 reward for information leading to his capture. Şimşek faces serious federal charges, including defrauding the United States government, money laundering, and violating export control laws.

According to U.S. authorities, Şimşek and his associates are allegedly involved in a fraudulent scheme targeting the Pentagon's military procurement system. The investigation focuses on claims that certain military components manufactured in Turkey were misrepresented as U.S.-origin products to secure contracts with the Department of Defense.

Şimşek, a businessman who previously resided and conducted commercial activities in the United States, reportedly operated through companies focused on defense, logistics, and international supply chains. One such entity was based in Florida, specializing in the procurement of critical military and industrial parts.
