OOCL christens second 24,000 TEU methanol dual-fuel container ship

Orient Overseas Container Line (OOCL) has held the christening ceremony for the OOCL Grace, its second methanol dual-fuel container ship with a capacity of 24,000 TEU. The ceremony took place at the Nantong COSCO KHI Ship Engineering Co., Ltd. (NACKS) shipyard.

The OOCL Grace is the second of seven 24,000 TEU methanol dual-fuel vessels being constructed by NACKS for OOCL. These vessels are currently the largest methanol dual-fuel container ships in the world. The first ship in this series, the OOCL Wisdom, was christened in May and completed its first green methanol bunkering and voyage to Europe in July.

OOCL executives stated that the delivery of these vessels is part of a broader commitment to fleet expansion, digitalization, and sustainability. The company aims to optimize network configuration and provide more stable, sustainable logistics solutions for global trade.
