OOMSAPAS Los Cabos faces scrutiny over 1,480 million pesos in audit observations

During a session of the Baja California Sur State Congress, Deputy Guadalupe Saldaña Cisneros of the PAN party voted against the 2024 fiscal account of OOMSAPAS Los Cabos. She denounced irregular financial management, describing the report as “insulting” to citizens given the region's water shortages.

Saldaña reported that out of 93 audit observations, the water utility organism addressed only 13, leaving 80 unresolved. These anomalies involve a total of 1,480 million pesos, with 1,025 million pesos remaining unjustified to oversight bodies. The legislator highlighted the lack of transparency in managing public resources intended for water and sanitation services.
