Oosterhout hosts exhibition on historical steam tram history

The Heemkundekring De Heerlijkheid Oosterhout (HKO) is hosting a new exhibition at Theater de Bussel dedicated to the history of the steam tram. Starting in 1880, the steam tram provided a vital connection between Breda and Oosterhout, serving as the first steam tram link in North Brabant.

The exhibition is designed from the perspective of an imaginary passenger, allowing visitors to experience the route through various streets and landmarks. Using photographs, illustrations, and genealogical data, the display highlights the history of the route and the lives of the residents, businesses, and buildings that lined the tracks during that era.
