Opal Capital raises Uber stake to $4.7 million amid AI investment push

Opal Capital LLC increased its holding in Uber Technologies Inc. to 65,450 shares, valued at about $4.71 million, after buying an additional 60,074 shares in the first quarter. The boost represents a 1,117 % rise in the fund’s position, bringing its ownership to roughly 0.02 % of Uber’s outstanding shares.

During the same period other institutional investors also expanded their Uber stakes, but the filing highlights Opal’s sizable purchase. Uber is concurrently deepening its focus on artificial intelligence, having committed $100 million to Atoms, the robotics firm founded by former CEO Travis Kalanick, and expanding AI resources within its Uber Freight logistics business.
