The new football stadium in Opatija was officially inaugurated with a friendly match between NK Opatija and NK Rijeka. NK Rijeka won the match 2-0, with goals scored by Puljić in the 40th minute and Oreč in the 73rd minute.

The reconstructed facility features an artificial pitch, a main stand with 802 seats, media areas, and a visitor stand with 44 seats. The project, which took nearly two years to complete, is expected to serve approximately 250 children from the NK Opatija football school.

Mayor Fernando Kirigin noted that the project was the only viable option for the location. The stadium has already drawn interest from foreign European clubs looking for venues during their pre-season preparations.
