OPay transaction value reaches $358bn ahead of potential US IPO
OPay Limited reported a significant increase in financial activity for 2025, processing $358 billion in gross transaction value (GTV). This represents a 115% increase from the $166.2 billion recorded in 2024. The growth comes as the fintech company prepares for a potential initial public offering (IPO) on the New York Stock Exchange, which could value the firm at approximately $4 billion.
Key performance metrics include a 57% rise in monthly active users to 39.3 million and a 50% increase in daily active users to 22.7 million in the fourth quarter. The company’s lending sector saw rapid expansion, with new loans originating at $938.3 million, a 285% increase from the previous year. Total revenue also grew by 161% to $536.3 million, and the company returned to operating profitability, reporting an operating income of $107.1 million.
While OPay operates in Indonesia, Egypt, and Pakistan, Nigeria remains its primary market, accounting for 88.1% of its 2025 revenue.
