OPay wins Digital Bank and Financial Inclusion awards at BAFI 2026

OPay has received two major honors at the 14th BusinessDay Banks and Other Financial Institutions (BAFI) Awards 2026. The company was named Digital Bank of the Year and Financial Inclusion Leader of the Year.

The awards ceremony, held on October 9 at the Civic Centre in Lagos, recognized OPay’s role in expanding access to digital financial services across Nigeria. The company utilizes a multi-channel approach, including mobile applications, USSD, cards, digital wallets, and agency banking to reach individuals and businesses, particularly in underserved communities.

OPay reported serving tens of millions of users and supporting over one million merchants and businesses. Dotun Adekunle, the company’s Chief Operating Officer and Chief Technology Officer, stated that the recognition reaffirms their focus on providing reliable, secure, and valuable services to Nigerians.
