OPEC Group and Arburg Publish 2025 Sustainability Reports

The OPEC Group released its 2025 ESG report, noting that renewable sources accounted for 36.3% of its heat production, up from 23.0% the previous year. Total heat output reached 490.3 thousand MWh, with renewable heat increasing by 67.3%. Use of fossil‑based energy fell 10.9% while renewable fuel use rose about 70%. The company also commissioned Poland’s first loose‑straw cogeneration boiler (12.5 MW), projected to cut CO₂ emissions by more than 43 thousand tons annually and reduce plant emissions by roughly 40%. Overall greenhouse‑gas emissions fell 12% to 163.2 thousand t CO₂e.

Arburg published its 2025 Sustainable Development Report, outlining progress under the arburgGREENworld programme. The report highlights improvements in resource efficiency, circular‑economy practices and carbon‑footprint reduction. Arburg received a Gold rating from EcoVadis for the third consecutive year, raising its score from 78 to 83 and placing it in the top two percent of over 100 000 assessed firms. The company also earned a “B” rating from CDP, indicating performance above the sector average in climate protection, energy use and emissions management.
