OPEKA redistributes unused tourism and theatre vouchers

OPEKA has initiated the redistribution of unused vouchers for social tourism, medical tourism, excursions, and free theatre tickets. This process, which began on September 7, is available to individuals who applied for the 2026 programs but were not selected in the initial lottery.

Those who were originally selected but failed to collect their vouchers by August 31, 2026, are ineligible to participate in this redistribution. For social tourism, medical tourism, and excursions, priority is determined by the order of preference declared in the original application. In contrast, for free theatre tickets, the original order of preference is not a criterion, and all applicants are eligible to participate.

To secure social or medical tourism vouchers, applicants must follow a specific procedure: first, make a reservation with a participating accommodation provider and obtain confirmation. Next, the accommodation details and stay dates must be entered into the OPEKA electronic application, either by the individual or through a KEP (Citizens' Service Centre). After 30 minutes, the applicant must visit a KEP on the same day to collect the vouchers. Failure to collect them on the same day results in the vouchers returning to the available pool. Vouchers are strictly personal and cannot be transferred to third parties.
