OPEKA to issue emergency A21 child allowance payments

OPEKA has announced an emergency supplementary payment of the A21 child allowance, scheduled for Friday, October 9, 2026. This measure aims to assist approximately 40,000 beneficiaries whose applications could not be processed during the previous cycle.

The delay was caused by technical issues involving IDYKA and the mySchool system, which prevented the timely update of student enrollment and graduation data following the start of the new school year. Without this verified information, the necessary cross-checks for mandatory education status could not be completed.

In addition to the emergency payment, the A21 electronic platform has reopened as of Monday, October 5, and will remain available until Friday, November 13, 2026, at 18:00. During this period, citizens can submit new applications or modify existing ones for the year 2026. Monthly allowance amounts range from 28 to 70 euros for the first two children and increase up to 140 euros for the third child and subsequent children, depending on income criteria.
