Opel celebrates 60 years of the Rekord C
Opel is marking the 60th anniversary of the Rekord C, which debuted in August 1966. The third generation of the Rekord represented a significant redesign of the model range, focusing on increased comfort and innovative features.
The Rekord C offered a wide variety of body styles, including two-door and four-door sedans, station wagons, a commercial van variant, and a fastback coupé. It was powered by a range of four and six-cylinder CIH (camshaft-in-head) engines, with displacements ranging from 1.5 to 2.2 liters and power outputs between 43 kW and 78 kW.
Technical improvements included an increased track width at the front and enhanced suspension damping to improve driving comfort and safety. The model also featured front disc brakes and coil springs at the rear.
