Opel completes 6,000 km of testing for Formula E debut

Opel has completed over 6,000 kilometers of testing across twelve days with its GSE 27FE electric racing car in preparation for its debut in the FIA Formula E World Championship. The GEN4 generation single-seater has received official FIA homologation, confirming its technical specifications for the upcoming season.

Testing focused initially on reliability before shifting toward performance, energy management, and the development of two distinct aerodynamic configurations: one designed to minimize drag during races and another to maximize downforce for qualifying laps. Drivers Mitch Evans and Théo Pourchaire have provided feedback on the vehicle, with Pourchaire describing the acceleration as the most impressive of his career. Sophia Flörsch is serving as a test and development driver.

Following wind tunnel work and initial track tests, the team is currently constructing the first racing unit. Official testing is scheduled to take place from November 16 to 20 at the Jarama circuit in Spain.
