Opel expands Frontera lineup with affordable entry-level and electric options

Opel is expanding the availability and accessibility of its Frontera model through new configurations and powertrain options.

A new entry-level version, designated as the ‘Start’ trim in some markets, aims to position the vehicle below 20,000 euros. This version utilizes a 1.2-liter turbo petrol engine producing 100 HP paired with a six-speed manual transmission. To maintain this lower price point, the model replaces the large central touchscreen with a smartphone docking station and features 16-inch steel wheels, though it retains essential features like air conditioning, parking sensors, and lane-keeping assistance.

In the electric segment, the Frontera Electric is positioned as a practical urban SUV. It is available with two battery options: a 44 kWh battery offering a WLTP range of approximately 309 kilometers, and a 54 kWh ‘Long Range’ version offering up to 400 kilometers. The vehicle provides a 460-liter boot capacity, which expands to 1,600 liters with the rear seats folded, emphasizing its utility for families.
