Opel Mokka Electric faces axle issues in technical inspections

The Opel Mokka Electric has received mixed results in its first technical inspection (HU), according to the ‘Auto Bild TÜV Report 2026’. While the vehicle performs well in several areas, including its springs, shock absorbers, and braking systems, it faces significant issues regarding its suspension.

The report indicates that the weight of the electric powertrain is putting excessive strain on the axles. Specifically, the inspection noted worn axle and guide bearings, leading to a ‘mixed impression’ of the vehicle's mechanical durability during its initial inspection period.

Originally launched in its electric form in 2021, the Mokka Electric underwent a facelift in 2023 that increased its battery capacity from 50 kWh to 54 kWh. The model is part of the Stellantis group and shares technical components with other vehicles such as the Peugeot 2008 and Citroën C4.
