Opel unveils Corsa GSE electric hot hatch

Opel has introduced the Corsa GSE, a fully electric hot hatch featuring 281 hp (207 kW) and 345 Nm of torque. The vehicle is capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.5 seconds and has a top speed of 180 km/h.

To enhance its performance, the Corsa GSE includes technical upgrades such as a Torsen limited-slip differential on the front axle, lowered suspension with new springs and stabilizers, Michelin Pilot Sport tires, and an Alcon four-piston braking system with 355 mm discs. The vehicle's handling tuning involved rally professional Manfred Stohl.

Regarding range, the car is equipped with a 54 kWh battery, providing a WLTP-rated range of approximately 374 kilometers (220 miles). However, real-world testing in mountainous terrain has shown significantly lower practical ranges, with some reports indicating the battery depleting in under 150 kilometers during spirited driving.

Orders for the Corsa GSE are expected to open on September 1, 2026. Pricing varies by region, with reports citing a starting price of 39,900 euros or approximately 37,990 Swiss francs for initial limited editions.
