Open Cinema festival returns for fifth edition in Belgium and Netherlands
The fifth edition of the Open Cinema festival is set to take place between September 26 and October 4, 2026. The event features 24 cinemas and film venues across 21 cities and municipalities in Flanders and Brussels, aiming to welcome both loyal and new audiences under the slogan “Open Cinema: Kom binnen en ontdek waar filmpassie huist”.
Participating venues offer a diverse program including new releases, rare films, and special programming. To enhance the experience, many locations provide introductions, post-screening discussions, tours, and hospitality such as complimentary drinks. Cinema Walburg is among the participants, scheduled to screen the film ‘Gohan’ on October 1.
In the Netherlands, the Bioscoop 10-Daagse event also celebrates film culture, with 191 cinemas participating from September 18 to 27. This initiative emphasizes the presence of Dutch films, featuring titles such as ‘Sugar’ and ‘Paradijs’ on the big screen.
