Open Fiber FTTH network completed in Castell'Azzara, repairs delayed in Verderio

The municipality of Castell'Azzara in Tuscany completed the Open Fiber FTTH (Fiber to the Home) rollout, linking 994 residential, commercial and public buildings. The new infrastructure provides gigabit‑plus speeds and reaches the town centre as well as the frazioni Selvena, Querciolaia and Sforzesca, connecting a school, the town hall, library, health guard, police barracks and other facilities.

In the Lombardy town of Verderio, Open Fiber finished laying the ultra‑broadband fibre in April 2026 but left significant road, sidewalk and public‑space damage. Residents reported the defects, and the municipal administration has suspended further connection authorisations, issued formal notices to the company and set a deadline for full restoration of the affected areas.
