Open Logistics Foundation seeks partners to pilot Time Slot Management API
The Open Logistics Foundation (OLF) is seeking industry partners to pilot a new, vendor-neutral interface for Time Slot Management. The open-source API is designed to facilitate real-time information exchange between Transport Management Systems (TMS), Time Slot Management Systems (TSM), and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
Currently, the logistics sector faces operational bottlenecks and long waiting times at loading bays due to manual coordination and fragmented, proprietary IT systems. The OLF initiative aims to balance the predictability required by warehouse operators with the flexibility needed by freight forwarders through standardized digital processes.
Transporeon and TradeLink have already implemented the API to establish initial testing scenarios. The OLF is now inviting shippers, freight forwarders, warehouse operators, and digital management system providers to test the solution under real-world operating conditions to further enhance the tool for industry-wide adoption.
