OpenAI and Google advance conversational AI with new voice features
OpenAI and Google are advancing their conversational AI capabilities through new voice-driven features. OpenAI has launched GPT-Live-1.1, which introduces improved French language support with new voices named Aube and Rivage. This update utilizes full-duplex technology to provide a more natural and fluid conversational experience.
Simultaneously, Google has moved Gmail Live out of beta for its paid AI subscribers. This feature allows users to perform voice-based searches within Gmail, Docs, and Keep. Instead of using keywords, users can ask conversational questions to retrieve specific information, such as flight boarding numbers or school schedules, from their email threads. The technology also extends to Docs Live, which can assist in drafting documents by pulling relevant information from Gmail, Drive, and the web.
