OpenAI and Google Cloud partner to host models in Model Garden

OpenAI has entered a strategic partnership with Google Cloud to integrate its frontier artificial intelligence models and Codex agentic workflows into Google Cloud’s Model Garden and Marketplace. This collaboration allows enterprise customers to access OpenAI’s technology within their existing Google Cloud infrastructure, utilizing established data governance, security controls, and identity management systems.

The initial rollout will feature a private preview of OpenAI’s latest model lineup, including GPT-6 Astra, GPT-6.1 Sol, and GPT-6 Luna, alongside Codex. These models are designed for diverse workloads, ranging from high-complexity scientific research and advanced coding to high-volume, cost-efficient everyday tasks.

Through the Google Cloud Marketplace, organizations can purchase these services using existing Google Cloud Platform spending commitments. Furthermore, OpenAI models are slated to be integrated into Google’s Antigravity development platform and Gemini Agent. While Microsoft remains OpenAI’s primary cloud infrastructure partner, this expansion provides enterprises with greater flexibility and reduces vendor lock-in by offering access to all three major closed-source LLM families on a single platform.
