The Independent Community Bankers of America (ICBA) and OpenAI have announced a strategic alliance designed to provide community banks with access to advanced AI-enabled cybersecurity capabilities, training, and peer-to-peer engagement.

Through this partnership, eligible ICBA member banks will have a pathway to utilize OpenAI’s ‘Daybreak for Frontline Defenders’ program. This initiative is part of a broader $1 billion OpenAI effort to support organizations that require robust cyber defenses but lack the resources to develop them independently. The program will initially focus on community banks in the United States.

The alliance includes three primary components: subsidized access to Daybreak tools for vulnerability identification, threat investigation, and risk prioritization; exclusive education and training sessions led by OpenAI experts; and access to the ‘AI Adoption group’ within the ICBA Community network, which consists of more than 8,000 bankers.
