OpenAI CEO Sam Altman touts ChatGPT Work for AI‑driven parenting

On July 31 2026 Sam Altman, chief executive of OpenAI, posted on X a use‑case for the newly released ChatGPT Work. He suggested parents link family calendars and children’s interest data so the AI can generate a daily podcast for the school‑run commute, covering a child’s soccer match, upcoming birthday, news items and more. ChatGPT Work combines the ChatGPT model with the Codex programming tool and is part of the GPT‑5.6 family, which includes the Sol, Terra and Luna tiers. The feature is initially available to Pro, Enterprise and Education users, and OpenAI is hiring a product manager to focus on family‑oriented experiences. At the same time, Meta is quietly testing an AI‑driven story‑creation app called StoryKit that lets parents upload photos of toys or characters to produce personalized bedtime stories. OpenAI continues to face safety‑related lawsuits, including a Canadian mother’s claim that ChatGPT contributed to her daughter’s suicidal thoughts and a Florida attorney‑general suit alleging inadequate risk warnings.
