OpenAI expands ChatGPT advertising to 26 new markets

OpenAI has expanded its advertising services to 26 new countries, including Pakistan, bringing its total reach to 89 markets worldwide. The rollout targets users on the Free and Go plans, while Plus, Pro, and Enterprise subscribers will remain ad-free. OpenAI stated that sponsored messages will appear between responses but will not influence the content of the AI's answers.

The expansion follows rapid revenue growth for the company's ad business, which reportedly grew from an annual run rate of $100 million in March to $1 billion by August. OpenAI aims to reach $2.5 billion in advertising revenue before the end of the year. The company reported that over 100,000 advertisers have already utilized the platform, with some businesses seeing significant returns on ad spend and new customer acquisition.
