OpenAI rolls out Locked Chats and ChatGPT Slides features
OpenAI has introduced several new features for ChatGPT, including a privacy-focused “Locked Chats” function and a collaborative presentation tool called “ChatGPT Slides.”
Locked Chats allow users to secure sensitive conversations behind a four-digit PIN or biometric authentication, such as Face ID and Touch ID, on supported mobile devices. Once locked, these discussions are moved to a dedicated section under “Projects,” making them invisible in the standard chat history, pinned chats, and search results. This feature includes an isolated memory space to prevent information from locked chats from influencing regular conversations. However, OpenAI noted that this does not provide end-to-end encryption and does not change data retention policies or model training settings.
Additionally, ChatGPT Slides has begun rolling out to Pro, Business, and Enterprise users. Integrated within the “Space” collaborative workspace, the tool enables users to generate presentations from uploaded files, outlines, or existing conversations. The feature supports real-time multi-user editing and commenting, allowing teams to collaborate on a single deck simultaneously. Completed presentations can be exported to PDF, PPTX, or Google Slides formats.
