OpenAI adds unlimited free ChatGPT chats and GPT‑5.6 Luna model FAST-MOVING
OpenAI has rolled out a major update to ChatGPT, making the GPT‑5.6 Luna model the default for Free and Go accounts. The change removes the text‑message cap, allowing unlimited text conversations for the platform’s roughly one‑billion weekly users. A new “Think” button lets users request deeper reasoning for complex queries, while limits on file uploads, image generation and other tools remain in place.
For Plus and Pro subscribers, OpenAI upgraded the GPT‑5.6 Sol model and introduced a slider that lets users adjust the amount of reasoning effort the model applies to each answer. The company says internal testing shows GPT‑5.6 Luna produces 62 % fewer factual errors and GPT‑5.6 Sol 68 % fewer errors than the previous GPT‑5.5 Instant model on financial, medical and legal questions.
