Anthropic’s $65 B Funding Pushes Valuation to $965 B, Surpassing OpenAI

Anthropic completed a Series‑H financing round that raised about $65 billion, lifting the company’s post‑money valuation to roughly $965 billion. The round was led by Altimeter Capital, Dragoneer, Greenoaks and Sequoia Capital and also included investors such as D.E. Shaw, Blackstone and DST Global. At $965 billion, Anthropic overtakes rival OpenAI, which was last valued at about $852 billion, making Anthropic the most valuable private artificial‑intelligence firm.

The funding comes as Anthropic reports a run‑rate revenue of about $47 billion, a steep increase from earlier in the year, and it is considering an initial public offering later this year. The surge in valuation reflects the broader market competition for AI models, with industry players such as SpaceX also announcing advances in AI‑training infrastructure.

Anthropic’s rapid growth and high‑profile investor backing underscore the accelerating arms race in AI development and its increasing importance to the technology sector.
