OpenAI hires former xAI sales leader Graham Seamans

OpenAI has hired Graham Seamans, a former sales leader at xAI, to head sales for its cybersecurity business. Seamans previously led sales operations at xAI, where he was instrumental in pitching the Grok chatbot to enterprise clients, including Wall Street firms.

This move is part of a broader trend of OpenAI recruiting talent from Elon Musk’s AI ecosystem. Since September 2026, OpenAI has hired several high-level executives from SpaceX-linked companies, including Brian McCarthy, Ismail Elmas, Uday Rudraraju, and Brent Mayo. These hires focus on global sales, infrastructure, and data center construction.

Under the leadership of Chief Revenue Officer Dali Rajic, OpenAI is intensifying its focus on enterprise sales growth and exploring new revenue streams, such as advertising, as the company seeks to expand its commercial business.
