OpenAI integrates Codex into ChatGPT, launching a super‑app for enterprise users

OpenAI is overhauling ChatGPT to create a “super‑app” that folds its coding product Codex directly into the conversational interface. The redesign, slated for rollout in the coming weeks, adds new prompts, image‑generation tools and partner services such as Canva and Booking.com, with a focus on enterprise clients. The move follows Codex’s rapid growth in 2026 – a 400% rise to five million weekly active users, 20% of whom are non‑developers – and aims to increase the share of business revenue from 40% to 50% by the end of the year. A phased rollout will prioritize Pro, Enterprise and Team plans, later extending to Plus and Edu tiers, and will include six new plugins targeting data analytics, creative production, sales, product design, public equity investing and investment‑banking workflows. The overhaul comes as OpenAI prepares a confidential U.S. IPO filing, though the company says the timing will depend on market conditions.
