OpenAI launches Admin plugin for ChatGPT Work and Codex

OpenAI has introduced several updates to its ChatGPT Work and Codex services, focusing on administrative efficiency and agentic capabilities. A new Admin plugin allows workspace administrators to manage users, permissions, and credit consumption through a conversational interface. This tool enables admins to perform tasks such as adding or removing members, adjusting usage limits, and reviewing spending requests without switching between different management dashboards. It also supports automated workflows by routing pending requests to platforms like Slack or Microsoft Teams.

Additionally, OpenAI is expanding the functionality of ChatGPT Work with new features for Plus and Pro users. These include an integrated browser capable of handling logins on protected websites and event-based triggers that allow tasks to be activated by changes in connected services like Gmail, Slack, or GitHub. Furthermore, OpenAI has introduced WebMCP support for its desktop app, enabling compatible websites to offer structured 'site tools' that allow the AI to interact more effectively with web-based applications.
