OpenAI launches ChatGPT for Financial Services
OpenAI has launched ‘ChatGPT for Financial Services’, a specialized platform designed to integrate generative AI into investment banking and equity research workflows. Developed in partnership with Morgan Stanley and Evercore, the product utilizes the GPT-6 Astra model to handle complex reasoning tasks, such as analyzing financial statements, interpreting charts, and generating structured reports.
The platform features a specialized data layer that indexes information from providers including Daloopa, PitchBook, LSEG News, and Crunchbase. This allows users to verify numerical data and claims by linking them directly to source text or tables. It also supports integration with existing professional subscriptions like S&P Capital IQ, MSCI, and Moody’s through shared sign-in concepts to manage access permissions.
To support enterprise governance, the service includes robust security features such as SAML SSO, role-based access control, and audit log exports. It is designed to work with corporate templates for Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, enabling the automated creation of research notes and presentation materials that adhere to internal company standards. In benchmarks, the underlying GPT-6 Astra model demonstrated a 69.9% accuracy rate on the OfficeQA Pro test.
