OpenAI launches ChatGPT Meetings for macOS

OpenAI has introduced ChatGPT Meetings, a new plugin designed for both in-person and online meetings, currently available exclusively via the ChatGPT desktop app for macOS. Unlike traditional meeting bots, this tool operates directly from the Mac by utilizing both the system audio and the microphone, allowing it to capture conversations from platforms like Zoom or Microsoft Teams without requiring an additional participant to join the call.

The tool can transcribe discussions, allow users to manually add notes or questions during the session, and generate customized summaries and action items once the meeting concludes. These materials are stored in ChatGPT Space, where they can be edited and shared. Users can also interact with the meeting content by asking ChatGPT specific questions regarding decisions made or tasks assigned to certain individuals. Additionally, integration with ChatGPT Work enables users to draft follow-up emails directly from the meeting page.
