OpenAI launches integrated 'super app' for businesses and mandates Mac app update after security breach

OpenAI announced a major overhaul of its ChatGPT offering by bundling the chatbot, the Codex developer tool and autonomous AI agents into a single “super app” aimed at enterprise customers. The unified interface is intended to streamline workflows, increase productivity and improve monetisation ahead of a possible public listing.

Separately, OpenAI revoked the security certificates used by its macOS, iOS, Windows and Android applications after a malware attack – dubbed “Mini Shai‑Hulud” – that stole signing credentials from two employee machines. Users were given a grace period to update, and as of midnight the older versions of the Mac app (ChatGPT Desktop, Codex App, Codex CLI and Atlas) will cease to connect to OpenAI’s servers.
