OpenAI launches self‑serve ChatGPT ads and free Advanced Voice Mode
OpenAI has opened a beta self‑serve Ads Manager for ChatGPT, allowing U.S. advertisers to sign up and purchase ads directly. The rollout follows a pilot that generated $100 million in annualised revenue within six weeks and targets businesses with long‑form buying journeys such as B2B software, financial services and high‑value home services. OpenAI advises marketers to test campaigns with focused landing pages and to track lead quality, CRM data and sales feedback.
In parallel, OpenAI expanded its Advanced Voice Mode to all free‑tier ChatGPT users on iOS and Android. The feature provides low‑latency, real‑time conversational speech, interruption capability and detection of emotional inflections. Free users receive a limited monthly allotment of voice‑mode minutes, after which the app reverts to the standard voice option. The update aims to bring OpenAI’s multimodal models closer to competitors like Siri and Google Assistant.
