OpenAI launches ChatGPT Health with US medical‑record integration

OpenAI has released ChatGPT Health to users in the United States, enabling the chatbot to import personal health data from Apple Health, MyFitnessPal, Function and electronic medical‑record systems such as Epic and Oracle Health. The rollout makes the feature available to all eligible U.S. users after an initial limited trial.

OpenAI says more than 300 million people query ChatGPT weekly for health‑related information. The company’s health‑product vice‑president Ashley Alexander claimed the models can reason at levels better than clinicians, a view moderated by health lead Karan Singhal. The new GPT‑5.6 Luna model reportedly outperforms earlier versions on OpenAI’s HealthBench benchmark. OpenAI also notes collaboration with a global network of physician advisors across 60 countries to train and evaluate the medical‑AI features.
