OpenAI rolls out new models and ChatGPT finance tools while Japan allocates $70 M to AI anime subtitles

OpenAI introduced three new language models—Sol, Terra and Luna—with pricing of $5‑$1 per million tokens and announced that the White House has asked for restricted access to the most powerful model. At the same time, the company expanded ChatGPT’s personal‑finance feature, previously limited to Pro users, to all $20‑per‑month Plus subscribers, allowing users to link over 12,000 banks via Plaid and ask the assistant to summarize spending.

Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry disclosed a $70 million (¥11.5 billion) fund to cover up to 50 % of AI‑driven translation and localization costs for anime. The program partners with Crunchyroll, Shueisha, Bandai Namco, Kodansha and Square Enix and aims to grow the global official subscriber base from 100 million to 300 million.

Separately, the startup 1min.AI is promoting a lifetime subscription that grants unlimited access to major AI models—including ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Llama and others—across text, image, video and voice tools for $69.97 during its Deal Days sale.
