OpenAI's ChatGPT AI Platform Reaches 815 Million Monthly Users

Since its public launch on November 30, 2022, OpenAI’s ChatGPT has grown from an experimental chatbot to one of the most widely used AI services worldwide. The platform hit 100 million users within two months and, by February 2026, recorded 815 million monthly active users (excluding the Copilot integration) and 883 million when Copilot is included, generating 5.7 billion monthly visits.

ChatGPT now underpins product research, brand reputation management, and everyday communication for hundreds of millions of users. More than a third of consumers begin product searches with the AI, and the content it generates shapes public perception of individuals and brands.
