OpenCNC 3D project brings Command & Conquer: Red Alert to full 3D

In anticipation of the 30th anniversary of the classic real-time strategy game Command & Conquer: Red Alert, fans have developed a free 3D remake through the OpenCNC 3D project.

The project, currently in version 0.9.0 Alpha, utilizes the RA3D module to transition the original 1996 title into a fully three-dimensional environment. While the remake introduces modern visual graphics, it preserves the original game logic, unit behavior, combat systems, and pathfinding mechanics from the 1996 PC version.

OpenCNC 3D originated as an unofficial conversion of the Nintendo 64 version of the game, which featured 3D graphics, but the fan team has expanded the scope by enhancing gameplay mechanics and technical capabilities. The project is a standalone production that allows players to choose between various visual and gameplay modifications. It supports single-player campaigns, skirmishes, and multiplayer modes.
