OpenLogi introduces Action Rings for Logitech hardware configuration

The open-source project OpenLogi has released a significant update, version 0.7, introducing support for ‘Action Rings’. This feature provides a radial menu that users can program with commands such as media controls, navigation, or copy-and-paste functions, offering a privacy-focused alternative to Logitech’s proprietary Options+ software.

Developed in Rust, OpenLogi operates locally without telemetry or user accounts. The update expands hardware compatibility via the HID++ protocol, allowing for button remapping, DPI adjustments, and SmartShift configuration. It also adds support for the thumb wheel on devices like the MX Master series to control system volume. The software is available for macOS, Windows, and Linux.

Additionally, the open-source tool LinearMouse has released version 0.11.4, which improves macOS support for Logitech devices connected via Bolt receivers. While OpenLogi focuses on replicating specific manufacturer features, LinearMouse provides broader mouse and trackpad customization for macOS users.
