Opennote AI note‑taking platform gains viral traction after LA Hacks win
UC Irvine undergraduates Abhi Arya and Rishi Srihari created Opennote, an AI‑powered educational platform that turns static notes into interactive study material. The team launched a demo video that quickly went viral on YouTube, garnering 650,000 views and sparking a sharp rise in user activity.
The prototype earned first place at the 2024 LA Hacks competition. Opennote integrates with existing productivity tools such as Notion and Google Drive, offering an “AI tutor that lives in your notes” to help students practice, retain, and learn from their own material.
