openSUSE announces 2026 Board election schedule

The openSUSE Election Committee has launched the 2026 Board Election process, with three Board seats currently up for election. The committee has requested that the election be completed by December 1, 2026.

The election timeline includes a call for nominations starting October 24, 2026, followed by the announcement of the final candidate list on November 14. Ballots are scheduled to open on November 15 and close on November 22, with results expected to be announced on November 23.

Candidates are required to publish election platforms detailing their involvement with the openSUSE Project and their governance priorities. If insufficient candidates emerge, the nomination period may be extended, or the sitting Board may appoint members to fill vacant seats.
