Oper Leipzig announces new season premieres

Oper Leipzig has announced its upcoming season schedule, beginning with a premiere of Tchaikovsky’s ‘Eugen Onegin’ on October 10. The production will be directed by Vasily Barkhatov, who is scheduled to direct Wagner’s ‘Ring des Nibelungen’ at the Bayreuth Festival in 2028.

Other scheduled highlights for October include the German premiere of the musical comedy ‘Der Hase mit den Bernsteinaugen’ on October 17, based on the novel by Edmund de Waal. The season also features Puccini’s ‘La Bohème’ on October 18, ‘Die Fledermaus’ on October 23, and ‘The Addams Family’ on October 30. The season will kick off with a gala on October 3 and 4.
